府議会が「関西広域連合」の規約案を可決し、全国初の府県連合が年内に発足する見通しとなったことを受けて、大阪市の平松邦夫市長は２７日、「関西の潜在能力が花開くきっかけになってほしい。大阪市の参加は、国の地方組織の受け皿としてしっかり決まったときがひとつのタイミング。関西の４政令市がそろって参加する形にしたい」とのコメントを発表した。
